Children may want to use their hands as binoculars to mime the first line. I have children chime in with the last line ‘and a turkey trotting down the trail.” Do they want to add a ‘Gobble! Gobble!’? I also say look for the turtle exploring on the main illustration pages including the first one with the ranger station.

Here is a turkey activity that requires children to tear strips of construction paper in feather shaped strips, glue them to a page, and then add the turkey template (already colored) to finish the project!
