Looking for color sheet, counting sheet, and more for each book? Click on the title: Twelve Days of Winter, Twelve Days of Summer, Twelve Days of Autumn, or Twelve Days of Spring.
Links to track activities for various grade levels are below in bold red.

These animal track posters were designed to follow a reading of any of the Twelve Days books. NOTE: We are doing some tweaks so there may be updates in the next month. The tracks are close to actual size. Post the tracks around a room, library, classroom, or bookstore and let the children try to identify these tracks belonging to animals found in North America. Also provided are answer sheets (for various age levels) and the answer guides.
Below is an advanced option in which students need to look at the clues in the series to answer.
Don’t want to print out posters and do an abbreviated track activity?
Here is a two-sided worksheet with tracks and animal pictures that doesn’t require you to print out the posters and the answer sheet for this is available, too.
Here is a one-page track activity with a word bank plus the answer sheet.
Look for the bluejay in Twelve Days of Winter! A little chipmunk scampers around in Twelve Days of Summer. In Twelve Days of Autumn, a turtle watches animals prepare for winter. A rabbit hops through the pages of Twelve Days of Spring.
When I read these books to children, I have them shape their hands like binoculars to search for the animals. They can also make binoculars out of toilet paper tubes!
